Hear Ye, Hear Ye! A Proclamation from the Esteemed Pasty Fest Planning Committee
Let it be known across the land that the Pasty Fest Planning Committee doth seek verses from bards and wordsmiths far and wide. We call upon thee to craft a poem, ranging from a humble 3 lines to a grand 30, in celebration of the venerable pasty, that most esteemed medieval fare. Thou mayest choose to weave the pasty into the lines of a beloved tune or exalt its virtues in any manner that doth please thee, provided it be fit for genteel company.
Let it be known that only one entry per poet shall be accepted, and each submission must be crafted solely for this illustrious contest. No coin shall be required for thy entry. Hasten Thee! The hour of submission closeth at the stroke of midnight, upon the 15th day of August, in the year of our Lord, 2024. The victor shall be proclaimed on the 17th day of August, during the grand revels of Pasty Fest at the third hour past noon. A Bounty Awaits! The triumphant poet shall receive an Official Winner’s Certificate, a mark of great honor and esteem. Let Judgment Be Rendered! The discerning eyes of the Pasty Fest Planning Committee shall judge the entries. Those among the committee who wish to participate in this noble pursuit may abstain from judging and join the contest. May the muses guide thy quill as thou dost honor the pasty! |
Attend the Gathering! All are invited to lend their voices and read their crafted verses at the History on the Rocks A Pasty Poetry Slam. This gathering shall take place at the renowned Eva's Hideaway, (211 7th St, Calumet) on August 16th from 5 to 7pm, under the stewardship of the gracious Abbey Palmer and the honorable Rachael Pressley.
