​You Be the Judge! Pasty Bake-Off!

​You purchase a kit of 4oz pasties, one from each of our commercial vendors and let us know what one is the best! Pasties will be individually marked, each with a different style of toothpick. You will return to the sales booth the tooth pick from the pasty you thought was best! We will only have 100 "kits" available so get to the Bake-Off Booth quick, next to the Keweenaw National Historic Park Visitors Center (98 5th Street)! The price for the kit is $40 for 2025 and will get you pounds of pasties to share! This kit is built to share but remember only ONE vote per kit!

Pasty Eating Competition 
​It's not just how fast you can eat, it's how MUCH you can eat. Twelve contestants will have a shot to see who can eat the most pasties in 5 minutes! Eight contestants will be allowed to sign-up beforehand and 4 lucky feasters will be hand selected the day of the event.

The Circuit Challenge is back! We'll be playing 21 holes at Calumet Lake, with a mixture of short and long tees to the red baskets. You'll receive 3 discs as part of your players pack. 11am Walking Tour - Meet at the Calumet Visitor Center and end at the opening ceremony 

Explore immigration and the role the food has played while you discover your own connections on this short walk around downtown Calumet. Meet at the Calumet Visitor Center, 98 5th St. Calumet, MI. This program will cover about half a mile and is free and open to the public.

Pasties in the Past: Traditional Food, Heritage, and Home
4pm Illustrated Talk- 3rd floor of the Calumet Visitor Center,  98 5th St. Calumet, MI.
Pasties, first brought to the Keweenaw by Cornish miners, are an iconic and defining food in the Copper Country. Like many traditional foods they connect people to their heritage and home…and home away from home. Learn about pasties as reported by historic newspapers, magazines, and picture postcards. Share your stories about traditional foods and their connections to heritage and home. This program will be held on the third floor of the Calumet Visitor Center, 98 5th St. Calumet, MI, and is free and open to the public.
